Albania
This documentary work explores a country shaped by centuries of conquest, isolation, and transformation. From the Ottoman Empire to the iron grip of Enver Hoxha’s communist regime, Albania carries a memory forged in secrecy and walls that still echo. Traces of dictatorship remain: concrete bunkers scattered across mountains, fallen statues whispering of control, and villages where ancient rituals persist while modern forces reshape the land. The images bear witness to a time suspended — where history is not confined to the past, but present, tangible, and demanding to be seen.
