London, a summer of contrasts
Every time I return to London, I know that in one way or another, something will surprise me. This year, the city greeted me dressed like the Mediterranean: brightly colored tuk-tuks, flickering lights along Oxford Street, and the feel of a theme park designed for mass tourism.
The old pubs are slowly disappearing, replaced by quick-stop pizzerias. The Tower of London, solemn and proud, can hardly breathe amid the crowds. I wonder if this city, once defined by its own style, is leaving behind its elegance to be carried away by the noise of the global spectacle.
And yet, there is still something in London that never changes: its shops and storefronts—creative, sophisticated, and enticing. They remain a reflection of the city itself. Because London transforms, yes, but its British spirit—generous and visionary—still sets the rhythm. Here is where dreams are made, only to travel and later conquer the world.
